Women's Deri Wool Hoody

£110.00
Two colour plated knit hoody made from a cosy wool blend.
Description

The Deri is a warm knitted hoody made from a durable wool blend in a two colour 'plated knit' construction with contrast colour sleeves. It has a reassuring weight that will get softer and softer with time.

A plated knit fabric is made using a dual-yarn technique, featuring a contrast colour on the inside and a primary colour on the outside. The two sides are woven together to give a subtle marl-style contrast when the inner colour peeks through. It provides added warmth, durability and depth of colour.

Features two front pockets for cold hands, a two-piece hood with drawcord adjusters, ribbed cuffs and hem.

A quality layering piece designed to warm your winter days.

What is plating?

Plating (also known as thread knitting) is a knitting technique that allows the front and back of a fabric to be knitted separately, using dual yarns.

What is is good for?

Plating is often used when we want a primary colour on the outside of a fabric and a contrast colour on the inside. The two sides are seamlessly woven together by the machine, giving a subtle marl-style contrast when the inner colour peeks through. This technique can also be used when you want to add functionality (stretchy Lycra® for example). Plating provides a beautiful quality and finish with added warmth and durability, as well as far richer colours than other knitting techniques.
